The first meeting of the project steering committee and project update to City Council included a project introduction and a preliminary look into the existing conditions of the community. The group also participated in interactive exercises on assets, improvement areas, and community barriers.

The project stakeholders are individuals who represent a wide array of community interests including major employers, developers, community organizations, and leadership. By facilitating one-on-one interviews and group discussions the project team was able to learn more about the community and the specific opportunities, challenges and trends impacting the community. The stakeholders were invited to participate in a 60-minute conversation specific to their area of interest.

October 24 & 25, 2023
The project update to Planning Commission included a project introduction and a preliminary look into the existing condition of the community. The Planning Commission also participated in interactive exercises on assets, improvement areas and community barriers. The project team gave a summary of their first site visit to the Planning Commission.

The third meeting of the project steering committee will review drafts of the future land use map and transportation corridors.

The second meeting of the project steering committee will take a look at public engagement data to date and begin defining the focus of the Comprehensive Plan.
December 11, 2023
The fourth meeting of the project steering committee will review the remaining section drafts of the Comprehensive Plan, including Attainable Housing, Economic Development, Social Need, and Downtown.

The fifth meeting of the project steering committee will focus on the Implementation Plan, Critical Path Strategies, and the start of updating the City's Zoning Code.

The community has a comprehensive plan and uses it on a daily basis to direct future growth and plan for infrastructure, community services, trails, parks, and quality-of-life assets. The comprehensive plan update will build upon the existing plan to ensure that Troy continues to be an attractive and viable community.
